While most were enjoying the TT races on Saturday, our dedicated team at Medicor Veterinary Practice was hard at work helping Dougie, a beloved dog in distress.
We received an emergency call
that Dougie was very ill, with breath and vomit smelling like faeces. Our on-call vet, Iga, quickly performed an ultrasound and identified two suspicious areas that looked like foreign bodies in his intestines. Lukasz was immediately called in, and he performed an enterotomy, successfully removing four foreign objects – which turned out to be seaweed
.

This incident is a critical reminder for all pet owners to be vigilant while walking their dogs on the beach
. Seaweed can pose a serious health threat to our furry friends
.

Please keep your fingers crossed
for Dougie’s speedy recovery and take extra care to keep your pets safe!
